Three days after the latest nor’easter hit the province, there are still thousands without power across Nova Scotia.
Most in our region.
As of 1:15 p.m. over 4400 homes and businesses along the South Shore remained without service.
Most of them in Queens County.
The numbers are much better in Yarmouth County, approximately 28 customers.
Nova Scotia Power spokesperson Tiffany Chase says crews were slowed down in their restoration efforts for a while yesterday.
“In the overnight hours we had to respond to a number of unanticipated emergency calls to respond to downed wires as well as support fire response.”
Chase says they expect to make good progress today with contractor crews from New Brunswick, Quebec and Florida joining the restoration efforts.
