Most recently, Deveau has spent the past three years working as the executive assistant to the current Member of Parliament for West Nova, where he has worked diligently to help address the priorities and concerns of residents from the riding.
He’s a resident of the Municipality of Clare, and a former policy analyst with the federal government, where he worked closely with senior government officials on a range of files relating to the environment, natural resources and sustainable development.
He refers to himself as a proud Acadian who is fluently bilingual in French and English, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography as well as a Master of Geography degree, both from the University of Ottawa.
He has also served as a volunteer on the board of directors for several community-based not-for-profit organizations.
In a news release he says “If elected, I vow to be a strong and forceful voice for all communities throughout West Nova, from Waterville to Pubnico, and will ensure that our rural concerns are heard loudly and clearly in the halls of political power in Ottawa. While many people in West Nova are feeling better off financially than they did three years ago, our work is not done until every person has a fair and equal chance at success and a dignified retirement.”
West Nova MP Colin Fraser has announced he will not reoffer.
The date, time and location of the West Nova Liberal Association nomination meeting has not yet been determined.
