Firefighters had to extinguish a blaze on a fishing vessel twice.
It happened early in the morning Wednesday in Lower East Pubnico.
The boat was heading out fishing when it caught fire.
Local fire chief Joe d’Eon says the crew got out safe and were picked up by a nearby vessel.
The boat was towed to the wharf and fire crews finished putting out the fire.
The next afternoon, it flared up again, and crews went back to the scene.
d’Eon says the boat is being dismantled today.
The East Pubnico, West Pubnico, Woods Harbour/Shag Harbour departments all helped out, with others on standby.
