The Royal Canadian Legion branch in Wedgeport will be commemorating the Korean War and three of its members this Saturday.
The legion’s living Korean War veterans, Nelson J. Deveau, Bob Garron and Leslie J. Muise, will be recognized.
Branch 155 spokesperson Andre Boudreau says all veterans and the public are welcome to attend.
“To commemorate the armistice of the Korean conflict, we call it the Korean War. We’re going to do it on the 27th which is the anniversary of the armistice at 11 o’clock at the Wedgeport legion.”
He says any Korean veteran in the area is welcome.
More than 26,000 Canadians served and 516 were killed in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.
This is the 65th anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended the active fighting in the Korean War.
