It’s getting to be that time of year when churches, organizations and individuals reach out to help those who are struggling.
The Salvation Army in Yarmouth is also there to offer a helping hand.
Captain Melissa Mailman tells us there is great community spirit in this area with many businesses like Canadian Tire, churches like Yarmouth Wesleyan and organizations including the Knights of Columbus.
“We say we can’t do what we do without the folks here and it is so true. With that help, we were able to help 205 families last year. 248 of those were children.”
Captain Mike Mailman says it’s one their biggest fundraisers.
“That is in tandem with our letter campaign which folks should be expecting very soon in the flyers.”
The Christmas Kettle Campaign begins on November 24th. You can also donate online at fillthekettle.com.
