Trevor Redmond is attempting to run across Canada and back.
His adventure will take him to Yarmouth this afternoon in a project called ‘There and Back Canada.’
His mission involves getting people to be mobile, therefore improving their health.
Originally from Stellarton, Redmond says when he was 15, he almost lost one of his legs in a car accident.
“As I approach Yarmouth, I’m about to hit 500 kilometres. To me, that’s incredible because doctors told me at age 15 that the best I’d be able to do is use a cane for the rest of my life.”
His journey began on Canada Day, and will take him 850 days and a distance of 22,000 kilometres.
He encourages people to approach him and to donate money to Camp Brigadoon, a cause he is running for here in Nova Scotia.
This will be Redmond’s third cross-Canada trip, as he previously has walked and cycled the country.
