Tri-County Women’s Centre
The Tri County Women’s Centre offers services to all women and adolescent girls living in Digby, Shelburne and Yarmouth counties. Our main location is Yarmouth and we have Outreach offices in Shelburne and Digby. We carry out two mandates: Direct Services and Social Change.
We provide individual support, advocacy services and programming to women and adolescent girls with both a prevention and intervention focus. Our programs are based on personal empowerment leading to economic and social independence.
We also focus on polices and addressing service gaps that impact the health and wellbeing of vulnerable populations – people living in poverty, at risk/homeless women and youth.
Tri-County Women’s Centre is temporarily CLOSED in response to recent guidelines set forth by the government regarding covid-19.
We have temporarily suspended ALL drop-in services. In order to protect the health of our clients & staff, we have made the decision that all staff will work from home.
General Office Hours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Due to the current guidelines, office hours may vary.

We are trying our absolute best to A: keep everyone as safe as possible and B: keep our staff working as long as humanly possible. I believe we have situated ourselves fairly well to do that by taking extra measures like closing weekends (which is really tough to do when the competition remains open !) and we are now only open mon-fri 7:30 -4:30 .
We’ve also closed the retail storefront to customers( no walk in traffic !) (again tough to do when the competition is letting people in their doors ….however I believe that this is best for us in the long term to keep our people and customers as safe as we can . Even with us not allowing any customers in the store we are still cleaning non stop as well .
We’ve even taken the next step of building three separate teams (inside guys , outside guys and our installers and separated them all in case one of us gets diagnosed with the virus and we’d have to close our doors . This way the team that has someone diagnosed has to go home for 14 days but the other two teams that haven,t been exposed to those people now can step in and keep the store running until their quarantine is done .So all that being said we are OPEN for business ….it’s just not business as usual , the customer/contractor has to call ,text or email their order in and we pick everything for them so they can drive through our back warehouse and pick up their product without ever leaving their vehicle.

We’ve been offering yoga classes 7 days a week since January 2014 at our Main Street yoga studio! On March 15th we closed our doors and moved all of our yoga classes online. All classes are livestreamed, and then saved on our group page for 24 hours so that people can do the classes when it works best for their schedule. While we miss seeing everybody in the yoga studio, there is still a feeling of community in our “virtual” yoga studio online which is awesome! Now more than ever it’s important we all do what we can to stay calm and grounded as we collectively go thru this challenging time.
We charge $5 for a day pass which gives you access to all the classes for the day, $19 for a week pass, or $49 for a monthly pass. Just yesterday we announced a special student rate for anybody under age 24 who is considered a student: one month for $29.
