Ryan Daley is the new captain of the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners.
The 20 year old defenseman from Porter’s Lake is entering his third season with the club.
Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says Daley was an easy choice to wear the ‘C.’
“Ryan is a guy who is team first. He’s all business. He looks after his teammates. A real mature guy that we feel is definitely the leader of our hockey club.”
The team announced two new acquisitions on Monday.
18 year old forward Brodie Butt and Zeke Estrada will join the club.

Butt is an Ontario native who spent time in the OJHL last season, while Estrada is from Anaheim, California and played in the North American Tier III Hockey League.
Barron says Butt is an OHL draft pick with a strong game.
‘He’s a kid that needs a fresh start. He’s very skilled and we’re real happy to have him aboard, along with Zeke.”
Barron says Estrada is a big, physical winger who will give the team more depth at forward.
The regular season begins Friday night, as the Mariners head to Woodstock.
