Public transit will be free in the Town of Yarmouth.
Starting December 1, the two dollar fare to use a transit bus will be lifted.
Mayor Pam Mood says this has been in the works for months.
“We don’t want to have a transit system and have folks not use it. For some, the two dollars is a hinderance,” said Mayor Mood.
She says the value of doing this far outweighs money gained from the fees.
More stops will be added along the routes.
