Yarmouth town council will be sworn-in tonight.
Once that’s done, the deputy mayor position will be chosen.
Mayor Pam Mood says she’s excited to work with the group.
“We’ve done orientation, and we’re already a team, which is exciting. It doesnt’ get better than serving the public and doing what we can to make their lives better,” said Mayor Mood, who enters her fourth-consecutive term.
The lone new-councillor is Kelley-Bishara Lacroix.
Steve Berry, Gil Dares, Wade Cleveland, Belle Hatfield and Derek Lesser were re-elected.
Mood says housing is top of mind as they enter the next mandate.
“It’s not our mandate, and that’s not passing the buck, it’s just getting to where we need to get, knowing it’s another level of government that’s responsible for it. How do we do that as a council,”
She says strategic planning will be done in January, and they’ll continue to focus on the Mariners Centre, healthcare and more.
