The Municipality of Barrington has a new warden.
District 3 councillor Shaun Hatfield was chosen by the new council at Wednesday night’s swearing-in ceremony.
Hatfield says he’s honoured to be named to the position.
“I’m reminded in this moment that none of us get elected to expand our own egos or gain power, but to serve human need, build community and care deeply for all around us,” said Hatfield.
He takes over from Eddie Nickerson, who served three terms in the position, he’ll remain as a councillor.
New councillor Cynthia Bazinet was chosen as deputy warden.
