The Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce handed out their business awards at Mariners Centre Thursday night.
The event was sold-out with over 300 in attendance.
Boatskeg Distilling in West Pubnico won the Large Business of the Year award.
Bobbi-Jo Wyman with the company says it means a lot to have community support.
“Very exciting, I don’t even have the words, it’s such a great honour for us. We put a lot into this and it’s great to see it pay off,” said Wyman.
Boatskeg employs three full-time employees and many part-timers, and say they continue to expand with new products.
Mile East Productions took home Small Business of the Year at the 17th annual ceremony.
They helped organize the World Acadian Congress, Wharf Rat Rally and many other events.
Rick Allwright runs the business along with his wife Candice, and says it’s great to be recognized.
“We’re continuing to build and looking to expand our service area, and grow with more events in the province that become annual types of events,” said Allwright.
Premier Tim Houston was the guest speaker at the awards.
