There will soon be new, energy efficient apartments in southwest Nova Scotia.
In all, 13 one and two bedroom apartments will be converted in two buildings.
Heritage Hall in Shelburne will get five units, the old Barton School in Digby County will become an eight unit apartment complex.
Federal housing minister Sean Fraser says they’re happy to support the projects to bring more affordable homes to the region.
Compass Nova Scotia Co-operative Homes will oversee the project, they put in over $1 million.
The province and feds are also funding the renos, the total is $5.1 million.
