It’s back-to-school this week for students in Nova Scotia.
The RCMP wants you to be mindful of road safety, especially in school zones and at bus stops.
You also need to stop when the red lights are flashing on a bus.
Cpl. Carlie McCann says roads will be busier in our communities.
“Make sure you’re watching for extra kids walking in the area, kids who may be forgetful of the traffic rules as they’re excited about heading to school and their new routine,” said Cpl. McCann.
She says parents should talk to their children about basic road safety rules and getting on-and-off the bus safely.
“Staying in safe areas as you’re crossing the street, and never walk out onto the road until the bus is stopped with all of its lights flashing, and there’s no traffic moving,” added Cpl. McCann.
