Two brand-new transit buses are now in service in the Town of Yarmouth.
They weren’t supposed to arrive until the fall, but came ahead of schedule.
Each bus is accessible and can carry up to 16 passengers.
Mayor Pam Mood says this will enhance the quality of life for residents.
“So important to every one of us that people can get from point A to point B without worry, and this will help us in that cause,” said Mayor Mood.
All three levels of government funded the buses, the town put in nearly $144,000 of the $451,000 total cost.
The previous bus was out of service on a number of occassions.
Mayor Pam Mood says the town felt the weight of that.
“I think everybody will breathe easier, it’s not a small cost but it’s worth every penny.”
