Lots of progress on the new multi-sport court at Mariners Centre.
Basketball nets, canopies and bleachers are already set up.
General Manager Dorgam Hideib says it looks appealing, but it is still a construction site.
“They’re doing a great job, we know how excited the community is. It will get done soon,” said Hideib.
He says future work includes fencing, lighting and court surfacing.
“If you think it looks good now, just wait. It’s going to blow your mind.”
The local Canadian Tire, along with three municipal units contributed funding to the project, which was announced in May.
Hideib says they’ll share more details on an opening date soon.
