A happy ending to what could have been tragedy in waters off Newfoundland and Labrador.
All seven fishers aboard the ‘Elite Navigator’ were brought home safe.
The vessel was reported overdue on Thursday.
The Canadian Coast Guard spotted all seven in a life raft late Friday, as a handheld red flare was picked up.
They were welcomed home by a large crowd at a wharf in Valleyfield Saturday afternoon.
Premier Andrew Furey thanked everyone involved in the search and rescue effort, and said the entire province is relieved.
