Lockeport is holding National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations.
It’s happening Friday from 10-4 at the Crescent Beach Centre.
Organizer and councillor Dayle Eshelby says it’s the third annual event.
“It’s a way of sharing stories and knowledge and history, and a way of working on reconciliation. It’s great to have the community come together,” said Eshelby.
She says there will be an Indigenous arts and crafts market, along with traditional drumming, singing and smudging.
Eshelby says more celebrations are planned on Canada Day in Lockeport.
