The province wants the feds to act on offshore wind.
A group was in Ottawa to speak about Bill C-49, which would give the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board the power to regulate offshore renewables.
Natural Resources Minister Tory Rushton says they are very supportive of the Bill.
“In order to move the conversations forward, we need a regulatory pathway to have a better working mechanism to ensure offshore wind and green hydrogen are part of our economy in Nova Scotia,” said Rushton.
The Bill has to pass before the province can create its own legislation.
Nova Scotia wants to open up bids for offshore wind licences next year.
