The Cape Breton Eagles dealt the first overall pick in the QMJHL Draft.
They opened Friday’s first round in Moncton with a trade to Quebec, the Eagles got the fourth-overall pick in the deal, along with other picks and a young goaltender.
Cape Breton picked forward Romain L’Italien with their first of 15 selections.
The Halifax Mooseheads continued to alter their roster, trading away top forward Mathieu Cataford to Rimouski.
Halifax got a number of draft picks, including the 11th overall selection, where they took local player Daniel Walters of the Halifax McDonalds.
The Mooseheads traded veteran players Markus Vidicek and Dylan MacKinnon to Moncton ahead of the draft.
