It’s time to fall back.
Daylight Saving Time officially ends Sunday at 2am.
Even though many smartphones and devices automatically change, make sure your clocks are set back one hour before heading to bed Saturday night.
We’ll get to enjoy a longer than normal Sunday, but how will you use your extra hour?
It might be a good time to review fire safety measures in your home.
Yarmouth Fire Department Chief John Verrall says replacing batteries in your smoke detectors should be a priority.
“Also check your chimneys. You want to make sure there is no creosote buildup before you start burning your wood. The best thing to do is to go over or develop a family plan if you have a fire at your house. It’s great to have an escape plan.”
Verrall says it’s important to also make sure things are put away for the winter, check propane tanks for leaks and make sure dryer vents are clear of obstruction.
