With the spring weather , some rain and sunshine springs the almighty Dandelion .
They will soon be everywhere throughout the Tri – Counties .
I don’t mind Dandelions in the early spring as they are one of the fist Pollen sources for the bees .
I am like most homeowners and Mow them over with the lawnmower, they grow right back for the next mow it seems.
Personally I will not pull them out or use a nasty weed chemical to kill them .
What are Dandelions ?
Oxford defines Dandelion as A widely distributed weed of the daisy family, with a rosette of leaves, bright yellow flowers followed by globular heads of seeds with downy tufts, and stems containing a milky latex.

One cup of dandelion greens equals 535% of the daily recommended Vitamin K and 112% of Vitamin A.
A dandelion seed can travel up to five miles (8km) before it lands.
The name ‘dandelion’ is taken from the French word “dent de lion” meaning lion’s tooth, referring to the coarsely-toothed leaves.
Until the 1800s, people sometimes removed grass to plant dandelions.
