As a kid growing up in the Pubnico area I can only remember one time it flooded to the point of flowing over the bridge by Paaul d’Entremont’s Marine and of coarse the Bridge on the OLD Road to Pubnico Lake. As a kid I, thought it was cool and terrifying , now that I reflect on it, I can’t say I have ever seen it flood since that time many years ago.
This has me thinking , will people living close to the coast be prepared for higher tide levels in the years to come ?
This phenomenon — known as glacial isostatic adjustment — means the Maritimes are subsiding at a rate of about 15 centimetres per century. In Nova Scotia, the sea could rise between one metre and 2.5 metres by 2100.
