Hockey Canada’s Board of Directors has a new interim chair.
Lawyer Andrea Skinner takes over from Michael Brind’Amour, who stepped down on Friday.
She is the chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and leader of mental health initiatives at her law firm.
Skinner enters the role as the World Juniors begin, and as Hockey Canada faces pressure over their handling of sexual assault allegations against several players in 2018.
In a release, Skinner says they’re listening to Canadians, and working to make meaningful changes to hockey culture.
She will stay on as interim chair until the conclusion of the board’s term in November.
The Hockey Canada Board of Directors, with the support of its provincial, regional and territorial Members, has appointed Andrea Skinner as interim chair.
