A ceremony for Korean War veterans is being held in Wedgeport this Saturday.
It will take place at the Legion Branch 155 at 11 a.m.
There are ten living Korean War veterans in the local area, while 21 have passed away.
Andre Boudreau with the legion says it’s important to remember those who fought.
“The Korean War was forgotten for a long time. It’s not just about Remembrance Day and World War I and II, it’s about honouring all veterans who have served since then,” says Boudreau.
Three Ambassador for Peace Medals from the Republic of Korea embassy in Ottawa will be presented, all recipients are from Clare.
All veterans will be named, and the public is welcome to attend.
A small reception will follow the service.
