The Yarmouth Mariners added nine new players to the organization through the MHL Draft on Friday night.
Earlier in the week, the Mariners selected local forwards Jared Pitman and Sam Hope as territorial picks.
Pitman from Tusket says it’s been a goal of his.
“You grow up watching the Mariners, and it was always a dream to be able to be drafted by your hometown team,” says Pitman.
Both players will likely return to South Shore in the NS U18 Major league this season.
Hope from Plymouth echoes Pitman’s statement.
“Growing up watching Yarmouth, I always wanted to play for them. It’s really a dream come true,” says Hope.
Yarmouth’s first pick Friday didn’t come until the third round, where they selected forward Tristan LeBlanc from Bedford.
