A life-size replica of a Mako shark is coming to the Yarmouth waterfront this weekend.
It will be unveiled Saturday as a tee-up for the 2022 Shark Scramble this August.
Organizer Bob Gavel says it’s modeled after the record Mako that was caught off Yarmouth in 2004.
“It was somewhere in the vicinity of just over 11 feet in length. A guy in Florida created this for us, and it’s now here and ready to be installed,” says Gavel.
He says it will stay on the waterfront through the tourist season, and will be a great photo-op for visitors.
This year’s Yarmouth Shark Scramble will be held from August 17th-20th.
