While not an official holiday, today marks the 261st anniversary of the first settlers to arrive in Yarmouth.
The families of Moses Perry, Ebenezer Ellis and Sealed Landers then settled in our region.
Natal Day in Nova Scotia is officially marked with a holiday the first Monday of August.
