The CAT Ferry welcomes guests aboard Thursday.
It will see passengers from the U.S. visit our area for the first time since 2018.
The Bay Ferries’ service will boost tourism in Yarmouth County.
Roland D’Eon, the executive director of the Village Historique Acadien in West Pubnico says it’s big for the area.
“We’re really looking forward to getting back to somewhat normal. That’s all part of it, to welcome guests from away.” says D’Eon.
He says the ferry has aided them in the past.
“Certainly in the years when we had the CAT, you could definitely see by the end of the tourist season, those were the years that we had more visitors.”
He says the Village in West Pubnico is a cultural experience, and is more than just a museum.
The CAT will sail from Yarmouth to Bar Harbor, Maine until October.
