A message of peace and love for Ukraine was delivered in Yarmouth today.
A small group gathered in front of town hall to join in solidarity.
Local business owner Marilyn Waitkus encouraged citizens to unite on Main Street.
Waitkus says it was about showing their humanity.
“I moved here from Ontario, and the one thing that this community has is a deep sense of faith, compassion and caring. I thought it was time that we came together as a community,” says Waitkus, who owns KJR Jewelry Repair on Main Street.
While the turnout was small, Waitkus held a Ukrainian flag as several chalk drawings were made on the sidewalk.
“I need to do this, I need to put my hands up the lord, or the creator, whomever you believe in, to send my love and my joy to the Ukrainians.
