A large grass fire just outside the Town of Yarmouth last night.
Firefighters from the Yarmouth department were called to the Hilton Road in Rockville at around 8;30.
Chief Mike Deveau says the blaze was near a structure when firefighters arrived, but they were able to mitigate that risk.
After observing the fire for some time, it burned itself out once it reached the shoreline.
Deveau says firefighters were ready to attack if needed, but in this situation, a controlled burn was the safest option.
