UPDATE: A fatal fire that destroyed a home in Yarmouth County overnight is under investigation.
The RCMP have confirmed to our newsroom that the fire was fatal, but did not confirm the number of victims.
They are expecting to release more information tomorrow.
The RCMP are working with the Office of the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal, the Medical Examiner’s Office and the Forensic Identification Section of the RCMP.

RCMP and firefighters are still on scene on Melbourne Road in Pinkney’s Point.
Yarmouth Fire Department Chief Mike Deveau says the call came in around 2:30 a.m.
He says when firefighters arrived, the building was fully engulfed in flames.
Mutual aid was called in from Wedgeport, Port Maitland and Lake Vaughan.
Deveau says the road is down to one lane, but emergency responders are asking people to avoid the area at this time.
