Fire destroyed a home in Yarmouth County last night.
Around 7:30, the Valley and District Volunteer Fire Department were called to a house fire on Lilly Pond Road in Pleasant Valley.
Chief Jeff Richardson says when they arrived, the home was fully involved, and the occupant and his dog had made it out safely to a neighbours house to call 911.
Richardson says the homeowner believes the blaze began in the chimney.
The Carleton Fire Department provided mutual aid.
