The Town of Yarmouth will accept applications for its ‘Grants to Organizations’ program until the end of the week.
Non-profit groups have until Friday at 4 p.m. to make the submission.
Mayor Pam Mood says with limited funds to give out to dozens of groups, not everyone will get what they ask for.
“We have $35,000 for grants this year, there are well over $100,000 in requests. We encourage organizations to get their applications in, they make the community go around,” says Mood.
The groups must provide a service to the town to qualify, and must meet a list of other criteria.
Mood says it’s been a difficult time for these organizations, as many can’t fundraise during a pandemic.
She says council will look to get the funds out in February.
