A Winter Storm Watch is now in effect for Yarmouth and Digby Counties.
Environment Canada says 20-40 centimetres of snow could fall, beginning tomorrow night.
Rain through the day will change to snow at times heavy, and could mix with ice pellets before midnight, creating hazardous road conditions.
Winds are expected to gust to between 80-100 kilometres an hour.
The temperature will fall by Saturday morning, so a significant wind chill is also expected.
A Special Weather Statement remains for Shelburne County.
