Environment Canada is predicting our province will be blanketed with “significant” snowfall later this week.
The national weather forecaster is out with a special weather statement for all of our province.
It says the messy weather will kick off on Friday and persist into Saturday morning.
Environment Canada adds it’s still too soon to give the exact timing of the storm or the amount of precipitation for each region.
“The potential exists for the first major winter storm of 2022 later this week and into early this weekend,” Environment Canada says. “It is too soon to give exact timing and precipitation types and amounts at this time since slight deviations in the track of the storm will ultimately impact snowfall and rainfall totals.”
It’s also calling for strong winds.
Environment Canada recommends keeping a close watch on the forecast over the next few days.
