Yarmouth’s Warden says 2021 was a productive year.
John Cunningham says the municipality has been busy implementing a new strategic plan, which is built on governance, the economy and stewardship.
He says completing phase one of the ‘Climb the Light’ experience at Cape Forchu was also a major highlight.
“The tour started on June 24th, and there were 593 bookings for the season. There were 1,600 climbers, and a lot of very positive reviews,” says Cunningham.
Cunningham says phase two will include the fog alarm building, and a focus on accessibility at the lighthouse.
“We’re very excited at how many visitors we had over the summer, especially during a pandemic. The future looks bright out there.”
He says continuing to move forward on their strategic plan is a priority for 2022.
