The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners split a weekend set in Northern New Brunswick.
Friday, they defeated the Grand Falls Rapids 4-2. Nolan MacDonald scored his first career MHL goal, while Reilly Mayne added two and Mitchell Wagner also lit the lamp. AJ DiChiara made 25 saves for the victory.
The Mariners moved on to Edmundston Saturday night, where they lost 5-3 to the Blizzard. Kieran Burke scored twice and Sam Gillis had Yarmouth’s other goal, and Christophe Beluse took the loss, making 34 saves.
The Mariners have a record of 8-4-2-0, and sit in second in the Eastlink South Division, one point behind the Amherst Ramblers.
Up next for the Mariners, a showdown with the South Shore Lumberjacks this Thursday afternoon.
They’ll then host Valley on Friday night, and the Lumberjacks on Sunday at Mariners Centre.
