Work on the Town of Yarmouth’s sewer separation project on Parade Street is just about complete.
Final paving will take place tomorrow and Saturday, weather permitting, between Brunswick Street and Pleasant Street, including the four way-stop.
Mayor Pam Mood says lots of work has been done since the first week of June to separate the old rock sewer into separate storm and sanitary lines.
“We’re really excited to see it come to an end of course, I think everybody is. We’re thankful for everyone’s patience. We will have a newly paved arterial road, and we’re really excited about that,” says Mood.
The temporary two-way traffic detours on Collins and Seminary Streets will also no longer be in effect once paving is complete.
The project cost $2.5 million.
Mood says the Active Transportation Trail on Haley Road is another big project they’re working on, and it will be nice to have both ends of town connected by the highly accessible trail.
There is construction on Haley Road currently, you can find more details here.
