A successful weekend for the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners.
They won both of their exhibition games, 3-1 at Valley Friday and 4-1 over South Shore Saturday night at home.
Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says it was a positive weekend.
“The kids played hard. It was the first time a lot of them had played with each other. There were a lot of different line combinations, and we sat out some veterans that normally play,” says Barron.
About 265 people were in attendance at Saturday’s game at Mariners Centre.
Barron talks about the week ahead.
“We’ll have a real good week of practice to identify what we want to do in all three zones. We’ll get guys used to playing together, and we’ll work on special teams, along with our overall game.”
Yarmouth plays their next exhibition game at South Shore this Friday.
The Mariners open the season October 1st.
