Two election campaigns are now officially underway in Nova Scotia – a federal and provincial – for likely the first time in our province’s history.
Elections Nova Scotia has issued a news release to ensure Nova Scotians are not confused by the elections that are currently underway.
The information reminds residents the provincial campaign is to elect Members of the Legislative Assembly, or MLAs.
The provincial election will determine what political party will form government and the leader will be Nova Scotia’s premier.
The other election is at the federal level and is to elect Members of Parliament.
The results of that election will determine which party forms the Canadian government, and the leader will be Prime Minister.
The provincial election is Tuesday, August 17.
Federal election day is September 20th.
