The Schooners baseball team played a double-header against the Windsor Knights on Sunday.
The Knights took the first game 6-5. The top pitcher was Trit Reede, with three innings two hits, zero walks, earned runs and hit batter and two strike outs.
The losing pitcher was Ridge Penney. The top pitchers were Stefan Newell, who went three for four with three singles scored twice with two stolen bases, and Justyn Newell who went two for four with a single and double and three RBI.
The Schooners won the second game 3-1. The top pitcher was Jeff Ross, who went seven innings giving up seven hits, one unearned run, zero walks and hit batters, and one strike out. This moves Ross’ record to two and one with a 0.86 era and 0.81 whip.
The top hitter was Keith Nickerson with two hits single and a double scored twice and had one walk.
The Schooners are currently four and four. They’re second in the league with 16 points, Windsor is first with 19 points.
Schooners next game is August 1st against the Pictou Albions 1 and 3.
