Yarmouth is getting ready to trade up.
CEO and founder of Freshco retail maintenance Mandy Rennehan is returning to her hometown of Yarmouth and bringing HGTV with her.
The first season of HGTV’s “Trading Up” will start filming in the area at the end of July.
Rennehan will work to restore three properties with the help of three hand selected apprentices. She explained why she wanted to film in her hometown.
“It’s just a no-brainer for me. I love it here, I come here in the summers. I’ve always been such a proponent of the architecture here, the people here,” says Rennehan. “There was just no other place that I would want it to be in. Now that we’re seeing at lot of the pandemic kind of rev up our real estate scene here, this is another opportunity to even up the ante a little bit more.”
She also discussed the homes they’ll be working on and what she hopes people will take away from the show.
“What homes, that maybe have not gotten the care over so many years, can look like from an architectural, modernization and from a mechanical standpoint,” says Rennehan. “The other thing we’re looking at is watching young people as apprentices grow. We’re looking for people to see the trade industry in this show as a lifestyle.”
“Trading Up” is expected to be released in April, 2022.
