Tourism Nova Scotia is launching a more than $2 million marketing campaign aimed at attracting visitors from Ontario and Quebec.
The province says about $2.25 million will be spent on the “Do More in Nova Scotia” summer-fall campaign in those provinces to showcase the many attractions available to tourists.
“A strong tourism industry is a key part of our economy and we are pleased to be in a position to welcome travellers from other parts of Canada back to Nova Scotia,” said Labi Kousoulis, the Minister responsible for Tourism Nova Scotia, in a news release. “Both Nova Scotians and visitors to the province are key to helping tourism operators and other businesses begin to recover, grow and thrive.”
Nova Scotia officially opened its borders to all of Canada at 8 a.m. on Wednesday as part of Phase 3 of its reopening plan.
Travellers are now able to enter the province without self-isolation so long as they’ve been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks.
The campaign is being delivered as part of the $18.2 million tourism restart package announced earlier this month by the province to help the industry, which has been hard hit by the pandemic.
It includes television ads, digital videos, radio spots, social media, billboards, display ads, and search marketing tactics.
