The mother of Colton Cook wants justice for her son.
Cook was murdered last September, his remains were found near the intersection of Saunders Road and Raynardton Road in South Ohio.
Three accused in relation to the murder are returning to court today to set dates for preliminary hearings.
Stacey Cook says the justice system is too lenient.
“Everyday they serve right now counts as a day and a half. They are just postponing, trying to get their sentencing down, so when they actually get sentenced they’ll have more time under their belts. It’s got to stop. The playing of the justice system is so wrong. It’s geared for the criminals, not the victims,” said Cook.
A group of about 30 people were outside the Yarmouth Provincial Courthouse today, many holding ‘Justice for Colton’ signs.
A teary-eyed Stacey Cook said the support has been overwhelming.
“This town has been absolutely amazing. We couldn’t ask for a better group. We will start doing this every week, even when there’s no court. I don’t want people to forget my son, and what was done to him.”
