Another donation from the 100 + Women Who Care of Yarmouth County last week.
The Canadian Mental Health Association of Southwest Nova were chosen out of three nominated charity groups.
Executive member of the 100 plus women Tanya Bain says the funding will be for their connection self-care project.
“So many people in our community have been isolated from family and friends, and are missing that basic human need of connection during COVID-19. The project is about promoting self-care.”
Bain says there were also great presentations from the Salvation Army and SPCA, however just one charity can be chosen each time.
She says they currently have 70 members, and are always seeking more women to get involved.
“We would love to be able to increase our membership and get back up to that 100 mark. We have a Facebook page, check it out and send us a message, and we’ll explain how it all works.”
