Schools in Nova Scotia are receiving provincial and federal funding for retrofits.
$25 million was announced yesterday, with five million dollars coming from the province.
Yarmouth MLA and Health and Wellness Minister Zach Churchill talks about what the funding will mean for the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education.
“We’ve got some significant dollars, $1.7 million in the Tri-Counties, going to 20 different schools for really important energy upgrade projects, for accessibility projects and façade upgrades,” said Churchill.
Churchill says the work is important for the aging buildings, but some of the newer buildings are also receiving some upgrades.
The federal government funding comes from the COVID-19 Resilience Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
