Happy June 1st!
As the Lobster Season closes here, June first marks the start of the Shelburne County Lobster Festival. Because of the Pandemic it’s a reduced schedule with some virtual events, but it’s still happening!

June 1st – 5th
Lobster Festival Grab & Go Package – McKay Memorial Library, Shelburne – available during their open hours of Tuesday-Thursday 12:30-5, 6-8, Friday 10-5, and Saturday 10-2.
Lobster Festival Grab & Go Package – Lillian B. Benham Library, Lockeport – available during their open hours June 1 – June 5, 2021.
Sou’Wester Athletics LobsterFest Workout for Kids! Pre-recorded workout for kids aimed at ages 10 and under. Available on our Facebook Page.
Walk Lockeport – The challenge will begin June 1st with the Shelburne County Lobster Festival and continue throughout the summer. This is a great way to stay active and engaged as we navigate this lock down period.
– Daily steps should be counted, or estimated
– Weekly steps will be totalled and submitted each Friday
– Community totals and leaders will be shared!

Barrington Mystery Trail: Lucy is Missing!
Track the clues around Barrington to be the first to crack the secret code and help Lucy find her way home! Suitable for the whole family.
Storybook Trail-Lobsterfest Edition!
A storybook trail is a fun way to combine reading and physical activity. Read a book as you walk along the trail. Fun for the whole family. Featured book “Lobster fishing on the sea” and read about Susan’s adventure lobster fishing with her dad. June 4th-6th on the Roseway River Trail. Start the trail at the Roseway River end (closest to Town).
Light ‘Em Up for Lobster Festival – drive around to the wharves in your community to see the boats lit up. Participating wharves will be posted on our Facebook page. Any boat in Shelburne County can participate in this event, we encourage you to decorate your boat and light ‘em up! Prizes to be won! $500 in fuel for 1st place, $250 gift card to Vernon d’Eons Fishing Supplies (2nd Place) and $100 gift certificate to Capt. Kat’s Lobster Shack (3rd Place).
Lobster Festival QR Code Digital Scavenger Hunt – grab your smart phones and find clues hidden throughout the Municipality of Barrington/Town of Clark’s Harbour. Each clue will lead you to your next location! Find all the letters hidden at each location and unscramble them to uncover the code word! To get your first clue, email Suzy to register your team at satwood@barringtonmunicipality.com – All final submissions will be entered in a draw for prizes, special prize for the first correct entry submitted! Deadline to submit your answers and photos is June 7th.

International Trail Day
Special mini events will be happening all day along sections of the Barrington Bay trail , Woods Harbour Multi-use Trail and the Sherose Island Nature Trail.
Lobster Chowder Take Out – 12 noon (until it runs out) Cape Sable Historical Society (Old Court House)
Shellabrate Lobsterfest! Get your lobster on and support a local non-profit at the same time! Take out homemade lobster chowder. Contactlaess payment available via tappable debit/credit or etranfer. Some local deliveries may be able to be arranged. Only $10 each and includes a bowl of chowder and homemade biscuit!
Our online gift shop will feature 10% off any of our already tax free, lobster themed merchandise this week! (social distancing and hand cleaning protocol in effect)
Barrington Farmers’ Market – First market of the year! 9AM – 12noon – Sherose Island Recreation Centre parking lot.
East Coast Kitchen Party – Virtual Edition, 7PM – tune in live on our Facebook page for an evening of entertainment from local musicians! Featuring, Matt Bone, Ben Nickerson, April Scott, Amber Hiltz, Chett & Alex Buchanan and more!
