Students are attending classes virtually for the rest of the school year in our province.
The Regional Executive Director of Education is asking staff and families in the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education to hang in there.
Dr. Chris Boulter says at-home learning is going well, with students and teachers finding ways to be creative.
He says staying connected with friends is important in these times.
“Do it in ways that certainly meet public health guidelines. It is an unprecedented time. We need to remember that this is not the new normal, things will not always be this way. We’re in a pandemic right now, but we will get out of it. We need to remain optimistic.”
Dr. Boulter is thanking everyone in the school system for their enthusiasm and participation.
High school students’ last day of classes will be June 11th, and students in other grades will finish later in the month.
Dr. Boulter says more information on options for graduation ceremonies will be shared in the coming weeks.
A feature length interview with Dr. Boulter will air on the Weekender this Sunday morning.
