Yarmouth Municipal RCMP have announced that they are investigating a suspicious fire at an abandoned home on Argyle Street on April 27th.
The building in question has been the site of two fires within the last two months, the second of which required the building to be torn down for safety, and to extinguish that fire’s hotspots. No one was injured in either fire.
Yarmouth Fire Chief Mike Deveau said, after the second fire, that the cause was under investigation. Now RCMP have officially announced that they will be investigating the cause of the second fire.
In a release, the RCMP say that the fire is believed to be suspicious.
They’re looking for anyone with information on the fire or observed people in the area of 38 Argyle St. between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. on April 27th. Anyone with information is asked to call Yarmouth Municipal RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
